Clinical Overview

The brachial plexus is a network of nerves that sends signals from the spinal cord to the shoulder, arm, and hand. Injuries here cause severe weakness and loss of sensation. Ayurveda treats this as Abhighataja Vata Vyadhi (trauma-induced Vata disorder) localized in the Urdhwanga (upper limbs). Treatment focuses on intense localized nourishment (Brimhana) using Navarakizhi (rice poultice massage) and nerve-stimulating herbs to encourage nerve regeneration.
