Clinical Overview
Chronic neck pain involves persistent stiffness and pain in the cervical region, often due to poor posture, stress, or muscular tension. Known as Greeva Stambha, this is a Vata-Kapha predominant condition causing rigidity. We focus entirely on releasing this rigidity through localized clinical therapies, primarily Greeva Basti and Patra Pinda Sweda, which deliver deep heat and herbal medicine directly into the stiffened muscles.
Emergency Warning Signs
Seek immediate conventional medical care if you experience any of the following:
- Sudden loss of bowel or bladder control (Cauda Equina Syndrome)
- Saddle anesthesia (numbness in the groin/buttocks)
- Severe, progressive motor weakness in legs or arms
- Fever accompanied by severe spinal pain

Classical Perspective
Samprapti (Pathogenesis)
Vitiated Vata localizes in the spine (Prishta/Kati/Greeva), drying up the Kapha that cushions the vertebrae. This leads to friction, disc desiccation, space narrowing, and eventual nerve compression.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can Ayurveda treat a herniated disc without surgery?
Yes, in many cases. Our therapy-first approach uses Kati/Greeva Basti to intensely lubricate the area, reduce localized inflammation, and relax the spasms causing the compression. This creates an environment for the disc to naturally heal and retract, often avoiding the need for surgery.
