Clinical Overview

CRPS is a form of chronic pain that usually affects an arm or a leg, typically developing after an injury, surgery, stroke or heart attack. In Ayurveda, this intense, disproportionate pain with changes in skin color and temperature indicates a severe, complex Vata-Pitta pathogenesis with deep tissue (Snayu/Sira) involvement. We use a highly customized, gentle approach starting with cooling, anti-inflammatory therapies to calm Pitta, followed by deep Vata nourishment.
