Clinical Overview

Lumbar radiculopathy occurs when a nerve root in the lower back is compressed or irritated, causing pain, numbness, and tingling that radiates down the leg. Often related to Gridhrasi (sciatica) in Ayurveda, it is fundamentally a Vata disorder (Vata Vyadhi) involving the Asthi (bone) and Majja (nerve/marrow) Dhatus. Our approach uses Kati Basti (oil pooling on the lower back) and potent Vata-pacifying herbs to reduce inflammation and relieve nerve compression.
