Clinical Overview
Male infertility refers to a man's inability to cause pregnancy in a fertile female, often due to low sperm production, abnormal sperm function, or blockages. Ayurveda classifies this under Shukra Dosha or Bandhyatva. Our Vajikarana (reproductive science) protocols are highly specialized to cleanse the reproductive channels, profoundly nourish Shukra Dhatu, and improve sperm count, motility, and morphology.
Emergency Warning Signs
Seek immediate conventional medical care if you experience any of the following:
- Pain, swelling, or a lump in the testicle area
- History of testicular, prostate, or sexual problems
- Inability to smell, or recurrent respiratory infections (signs of genetic syndromes)
Symptomatology
Fatigue
Clinical manifestation characterized by fatigue. Ayurvedic assessment involves evaluating the specific Dosha and Srotas involvement underlying this symptom.
Diagnostic Protocol
Ayurvedic Assessment
Detailed Ashtavidha Pariksha (eight-fold examination) including Nadi (pulse) and Jihva (tongue) analysis.
Required Laboratory Tests
Imaging Modalities
Classical Perspective
Samprapti (Pathogenesis)
When Agni is impaired, the transformation of nutrients through the 7 Dhatus is hindered. Shukra, being the final and most refined Dhatu, suffers the most (Shukra Kshaya). Additionally, excessive Pitta can cause 'heat' that damages sperm, while Kapha/Ama can cause blockages (Srotorodha) in the reproductive tracts.
Dosha
Tridoshic, often with Pitta (heat damaging sperm) or Vata (depletion) dominance
Dhatu
All Dhatus, culminating in severe Shukra Dhatu involvement
Srotas
Shukravaha Srotas
Precision Treatment Protocol
Panchakarma Interventions
Classical Medicines
- chyawanprash
Key Herbs
- ashwagandha
- shilajit
- safed-musli
- gokshura
Frequently Asked Questions
Can Ayurveda improve sperm count and motility?
Yes, Ayurvedic Vajikarana therapy is exceptionally effective for improving spermatogenesis. By detoxifying the body and prescribing specific spermatogenic herbs (like Safed Musli and Ashwagandha) alongside a nourishing diet, we routinely see significant improvements in sperm count, motility, and morphology over a 3 to 6-month period.
