Clinical Overview

Premature Ejaculation (PE) occurs when a man ejaculates sooner during sexual intercourse than he or his partner would like. Ayurveda views this as Shukragata Vata, a condition where aggravated Vata dosha (which governs movement and speed) causes a loss of control and rapid expulsion of Shukra (semen). Treatment focuses deeply on grounding Vata, strengthening the nervous system, and reducing performance anxiety.

Emergency Warning Signs

Seek immediate conventional medical care if you experience any of the following:

  • Sudden onset of PE accompanied by painful urination or ejaculation (indicating prostate infection)
  • Associated with sudden, severe erectile dysfunction
  • Causing profound psychological distress or relationship breakdown requiring immediate counseling

Symptomatology

Fatigue

Clinical manifestation characterized by fatigue. Ayurvedic assessment involves evaluating the specific Dosha and Srotas involvement underlying this symptom.

Diagnostic Protocol

Ayurvedic Assessment

Detailed Ashtavidha Pariksha (eight-fold examination) including Nadi (pulse) and Jihva (tongue) analysis.

Required Laboratory Tests

Classical Perspective

Samprapti (Pathogenesis)

Excessive Vata dosha (specifically Apana and Vyana) causes hyper-mobility and instability in the Shukravaha Srotas. The mind (Manas) is often afflicted by Rajas (over-activity), leading to a loss of retention power (Stambhana) and premature expulsion.

Shukra (Reproductive), Majja (Nervous)

Srotas

Frequently Asked Questions

Is PE mostly a psychological or physical problem?

In Ayurveda, it is almost always a combination of both. Anxiety (a psychological manifestation of Vata) directly triggers a physical Vata response (rapid muscle contraction and expulsion). Our treatments address both the mind (via Shirodhara and Medhya herbs) and the body (via Vajikarana herbs) simultaneously.
