Guggulu
Sanskrit: Guggulu•Botanical: Commiphora mukul
Guggulu is a powerful oleo-gum resin exuded from the Commiphora mukul tree. In Ayurveda, it is the supreme herb for 'Lekhana' (scraping) actions—clearing deep-seated Ama (toxins) from the channels, joints, and blood vessels. Scientifically, it contains unique steroidal compounds (Guggulsterones) that exhibit profound anti-inflammatory, lipid-lowering, and cardioprotective effects.
