Dhanyamla Dhara (Fermented Liquid Pouring)
in Bengaluru
Dhanyamla Dhara involves pouring warm, specially fermented herbal liquid (Dhanyamla) continuously over the body. It is completely oil-free. The liquid is made by fermenting cereals, lemons, and specific herbs, resulting in a sour, deeply penetrating, anti-inflammatory liquid.
Clinical Benefits
- The absolute best treatment for severe Rheumatoid Arthritis (Amavata) where oil massage is strictly contraindicated
- Rapidly reduces heavy swelling, water retention, and severe joint stiffness
- Dissolves Ama (metabolic toxins) due to its sour, penetrating, and warming nature
- Excellent for weight loss and reducing localized fat
Clinical Procedure
1. Preparation (Purvakarma)
- • Dhanyamla is prepared days in advance through a specific fermentation process. It is heated to a comfortably warm temperature.
2. Main Action (Pradhana Karma)
The patient lies on the Droni (treatment table). Therapists pour the warm fermented liquid continuously over the body from a specific height using mugs or sponges, maintaining a constant temperature.
3. Post-Therapy (Paschatkarma)
- • The body is wiped dry. Oil is completely avoided during this therapy.
- • Patient is advised to rest in a warm room.
Patient FAQs
Why don't you use oil for my arthritis?
In Ayurveda, Rheumatoid Arthritis (Amavata) involves a lot of toxic buildup (Ama). Applying heavy oils in this stage traps the toxins and worsens swelling. Dhanyamla (sour fermented liquid) cuts through the toxins and reduces swelling without using oil.
