Ekanga Abhyanga (Localized Massage)
in Bengaluru

Ekanga Abhyanga is a targeted, localized oil massage focusing on a specific part of the body, such as a painful joint, a stiff shoulder, or a sprained ankle. It utilizes specialized herbal oils to provide focused relief to injured or inflamed areas.

Clinical Benefits

  • Provides rapid relief from localized pain and inflammation
  • Improves blood circulation and healing to specific injured tissues
  • Reduces stiffness and improves range of motion in targeted joints
  • Safe and effective for patients who cannot undergo full-body therapies

Clinical Procedure

1. Preparation (Purvakarma)

  • Warming the specific medicated oil suited for the patient's pain type.

2. Main Action (Pradhana Karma)

The therapist applies oil with specific therapeutic strokes—circular on joints, and linear on long bones and muscles—focusing entirely on the affected region.

3. Post-Therapy (Paschatkarma)

  • Followed by localized steam (Nadi Sweda) or hot herbal compress (Pinda Sweda) to enhance oil absorption.

Patient FAQs

Why not just get a full body massage?

While full body massage is excellent for systemic balance, Ekanga Abhyanga allows the therapist to spend concentrated time breaking down localized adhesions, spasms, and specific joint stiffness that require intensive manual work.
