Erandamooladi Basti is a highly specific Niruha Basti where the primary decoction is made from Erandamoola (Castor plant roots). In Ayurveda, Castor (Eranda) is considered the absolute best drug for conquering Vata, especially in the lower back and legs.

Clinical Procedure

1. Preparation (Purvakarma)

  • A strong decoction of Castor roots is mixed with honey, salt, and castor oil.

2. Main Action (Pradhana Karma)

Administered rectally on an empty stomach. It often induces a strong, cleansing bowel movement.

3. Post-Therapy (Paschatkarma)

  • Rest is mandatory. The patient will feel significantly lighter in the lower back.
