Hasta Abhyanga (Hand Massage)
in Bengaluru

Hasta Abhyanga is a targeted Ayurvedic massage for the hands and arms. It focuses on the Marma points (vital energy centers) of the hands, offering profound relief from occupational stress, nerve compression, and joint stiffness.

Clinical Benefits

  • Relieves nerve compression symptoms like numbness and tingling
  • Improves grip strength and joint flexibility in the fingers and wrists
  • Reduces occupational strain from repetitive tasks (e.g., typing)
  • Stimulates reflex points that benefit the heart and lungs

Clinical Procedure

1. Preparation (Purvakarma)

  • Patient sits comfortably.
  • Medicated oil (like Ksheerabala or Dhanwantaram) is gently warmed.

2. Main Action (Pradhana Karma)

The therapist massages the hands, palms, fingers, and forearms using specific strokes, applying focused pressure on the Talahridaya (palm center) and Kshipra (webbing) Marma points.

3. Post-Therapy (Paschatkarma)

  • Hands are wiped with a warm, damp towel.
  • Patient is advised to avoid cold water exposure for a few hours.

Patient FAQs

Is this just a relaxation massage?

While deeply relaxing, it is primarily therapeutic. By targeting specific Marma points on the hand, it directly influences the nervous system and relieves structural compressions in the wrist and arm.
