Kuti Sweda (Cabin Fomentation)
in Bengaluru
Kuti Sweda is an ancient, highly specialized form of whole-body sweating where the patient lies inside a specially constructed, heated cabin (Kuti). It is a very intensive Swedana method used for deep tissue detoxification and weight loss.
Clinical Benefits
- Induces profound, uniform sweating across the entire body
- Highly effective for melting stubborn adipose tissue (fat) in obesity
- Deeply detoxifies the skin and subcutaneous tissues
- Relieves intense Vata and Kapha aggravation
Clinical Procedure
1. Preparation (Purvakarma)
- • A specialized circular or domed cabin is constructed with multiple layers to trap heat. The patient undergoes a full body oil massage (Abhyanga).
2. Main Action (Pradhana Karma)
The patient rests inside the heated cabin. The heat is generated either from the walls or from specific herbal fumigations inside the cabin, inducing intense sweating.
3. Post-Therapy (Paschatkarma)
- • Patient must cool down very slowly to avoid temperature shock.
- • Extensive hydration with warm herbal water is provided.
Patient FAQs
Is this like a modern sauna?
It is similar to a dry sauna but highly specialized. The design of the Kuti and the specific herbal infusions used ensure the heat penetrates therapeutically without aggravating the internal organs.
