Madhutailika Basti (Honey & Oil Enema)
in Bengaluru
Madhutailika Basti is a highly popular, safe, and balanced enema that uses equal parts of honey (Madhu) and oil (Taila) along with decoctions. It does not require strict dietary rules (Pathya) like other Bastis, making it ideal for modern lifestyles.
Clinical Benefits
- Simultaneously cleanses (via honey) and nourishes (via oil)
- Highly effective for weight management and balancing lipid profiles
- Improves skin complexion and overall vitality (Rasayana effect)
- Safe for almost all ages and does not require strict dietary restrictions
Clinical Procedure
1. Preparation (Purvakarma)
- • A specific emulsion is created using equal parts honey and oil, mixed with rock salt, a little herbal paste, and Erandamoola (castor root) decoction.
2. Main Action (Pradhana Karma)
Administered rectally. Because it is milder and balanced, it is usually very well tolerated.
3. Post-Therapy (Paschatkarma)
- • Evacuation usually occurs within a short time. Patient can resume normal (healthy) diet and activities sooner than with strict Niruha Basti.
