Parisheka (Localized Pouring)
in Bengaluru

Parisheka generally refers to the continuous pouring of liquids. While often synonymous with full-body pouring (Parisheka Sweda), localized Parisheka is frequently used for wound cleansing (Vrana Parisheka) or targeting a specific inflamed joint with herbal decoctions.

Clinical Benefits

  • Cleanses and promotes rapid healing of chronic, non-healing wounds
  • Reduces localized swelling, heat, and redness in a specific joint
  • Prevents secondary infections in open ulcers (e.g., diabetic foot ulcers)
  • Soothes localized nerve pain

Clinical Procedure

1. Preparation (Purvakarma)

  • Specific herbal decoctions (like Triphala or Panchavalkala for wounds) are prepared.

2. Main Action (Pradhana Karma)

The liquid is poured in a continuous stream over the specific affected area (like an ulcer on the leg, or a swollen toe in gout).

3. Post-Therapy (Paschatkarma)

  • The area is gently patted dry with a sterile cloth.
