Prishta Basti (Upper/Mid Back Oil Pooling)
in Bengaluru

Prishta Basti focuses on the thoracic and mid-back region. While Kati Basti focuses on the lower back, Prishta Basti targets pain, stiffness, and postural strain occurring between the shoulder blades and the mid-spine.

Clinical Benefits

  • Relieves intense muscle spasms in the rhomboids and mid-back
  • Improves spinal mobility in conditions like Ankylosing Spondylitis
  • Relieves pain caused by poor posture and desk work
  • Reduces nerve compression in the thoracic spine

Clinical Procedure

1. Preparation (Purvakarma)

  • A dough ring is placed over the specific painful area of the thoracic spine.

2. Main Action (Pradhana Karma)

Warm medicated oil is pooled and maintained at a therapeutic temperature, allowing the heat to relax the deep paraspinal muscles.

3. Post-Therapy (Paschatkarma)

  • Gentle massage and mild steam (Nadi Sweda) over the mid-back.
