Samvahana (Gentle Relaxation Massage)
in Bengaluru
Samvahana is an extremely gentle, soothing, and rhythmic body massage. Unlike deep tissue work (Mardana), Samvahana uses extremely light pressure and is highly palliative, aimed at calming the nervous system, inducing sleep, and reducing severe stress and fatigue.
Clinical Benefits
- Induces profound mental and physical relaxation
- Significantly improves sleep quality and treats chronic insomnia
- Alleviates severe fatigue and burnout without stressing the body
- Gentle enough for frail patients, the elderly, or pregnant women
Clinical Procedure
1. Preparation (Purvakarma)
- • Patient lies comfortably in a quiet, warm room with dim lighting.
2. Main Action (Pradhana Karma)
The therapist uses feather-light, rhythmic, and continuous strokes along the body using mildly warm, fragrant medicated oils (like Chandanabala Lakshadi oil) to soothe the superficial sensory nerves.
3. Post-Therapy (Paschatkarma)
- • Patient is allowed to rest and often falls asleep during or immediately after the therapy.
Patient FAQs
Will this fix my muscle knots?
No, Samvahana uses very light pressure designed to soothe the sensory nerves and calm the brain. For deep muscle knots, Mardana or regular Abhyanga is required.
