Shiro Pichu (Medicated Head Pad)
in Bengaluru

Shiro Pichu is a simple, highly effective therapy where a thick cotton pad (Pichu) soaked in warm, medicated oil is placed on the crown of the head (Brahmarandhra). It is a milder alternative to Shiro Basti that can be easily done daily.

Clinical Benefits

  • Calms the nervous system, immediately reducing stress and mental fatigue
  • Helps induce deep sleep in patients with mild to moderate insomnia
  • Nourishes the hair roots, preventing hair fall and dry scalp
  • Soothes mild tension headaches and heat in the head

Clinical Procedure

1. Preparation (Purvakarma)

  • A sterile cotton pad is folded into a thick square and completely soaked in warm medicated oil.

2. Main Action (Pradhana Karma)

The soaked pad is placed directly over the crown of the head. It may be tied in place with a cloth bandage if the patient needs to move around, or left in place while resting.

3. Post-Therapy (Paschatkarma)

  • The pad is removed after a specific time, and the excess oil is gently massaged into the scalp.
