Panchakarma Protocol
Siravyadha (Venesection)
in Bengaluru
Siravyadha is the process of puncturing a specific vein to let out a calculated amount of vitiated blood. It is considered the "half-treatment" (Ardha Chikitsa) in Ayurveda, meaning it is so powerful that it can resolve 50% of the disease pathology instantly.
Clinical Benefits
- Provides instantaneous relief from severe systemic conditions like acute sciatica and severe gout
- Rapidly lowers high blood pressure in acute crises
- Clears widespread skin diseases (like psoriasis) much faster than oral medications
- Removes deep-seated Pitta and Rakta (blood) toxins systemically
Clinical Procedure
1. Preparation (Purvakarma)
- • Patient is hydrated and fed a light liquid meal (Yavagu).
- • A tourniquet is tied proximal to the specific vein (different veins are chosen for different diseases).
2. Main Action (Pradhana Karma)
The vein is carefully punctured using a sterile scalp vein set or needle. The dark, vitiated blood is allowed to flow into a measured container until it turns bright red (indicating pure blood), at which point it is stopped.
3. Post-Therapy (Paschatkarma)
- • The tourniquet is removed, and tight pressure bandaging is applied.
- • Patient must rest completely and avoid exertion or hot food.
Patient FAQs
How much blood is removed?
The maximum amount is strictly controlled based on the patient's strength, usually between 50 ml to 300 ml—much less than a standard blood donation.
