Suchivedha (Ayurvedic Dry Needling)
in Bengaluru
Suchivedha utilizes fine, solid needles (Suchi) inserted into specific tense muscles, trigger points, or Marma points to relieve deep muscular spasms. It is the Ayurvedic equivalent to modern dry needling and traditional acupuncture, deeply rooted in Marma therapy.
Clinical Benefits
- Instantly deactivates painful muscular trigger points (knots)
- Relieves severe, chronic muscle tension in the neck, back, and shoulders
- Improves local blood flow and promotes rapid muscle recovery in sports injuries
- Helps manage chronic pain conditions like Fibromyalgia
Clinical Procedure
1. Preparation (Purvakarma)
- • The physician palpates the muscle to find the exact tight band or trigger point causing referred pain.
2. Main Action (Pradhana Karma)
A sterile, fine solid needle is inserted directly into the trigger point. A local "twitch response" is often felt, indicating the muscle spasm is releasing.
3. Post-Therapy (Paschatkarma)
- • The needle is removed after a few minutes or immediately after the twitch.
- • A light herbal oil massage may follow to soothe the muscle.
Patient FAQs
Does the needle hurt?
The insertion is barely felt because the needles are hair-thin. When the needle hits the tight muscle knot, you may feel a deep ache or a sudden twitch, which is immediately followed by profound relaxation of the muscle.
