Thalapothichil (Shirolepa)
in Bengaluru
Thalapothichil is a deeply cooling and neuro-relaxant Keraleeya therapy. A thick, medicated herbal paste (usually Amalaki and buttermilk) is applied over the entire scalp, leaving a small central opening (Brahmarandhra), and covered with a lotus or banana leaf. It draws out excess Pitta (heat) from the head, instantly calming the central nervous system.
Clinical Benefits
- Dramatically reduces stress, anxiety, and mental fatigue
- Promotes deep, restorative sleep for severe insomnia
- Cools the entire body and pacifies Pitta dosha
- Stops premature greying and severe hair fall
- Highly effective for scalp psoriasis and chronic dandruff
Clinical Procedure
1. Preparation (Purvakarma)
- • A customized herbal paste is freshly ground using herbs like Amalaki, Brahmi, and buttermilk.

3. Post-Therapy (Paschatkarma)
- • The paste is kept on for 45 minutes.
- • The paste is carefully removed, and a gentle scalp wash is performed.
- • Rasnadhi Choornam (herbal powder) is rubbed on the crown to prevent catching a cold.
