Yoga Nidra (Guided Neuro-Calming)
in Bengaluru

Yoga Nidra, or "Yogic Sleep," is a highly structured meditation technique that guides the brain into the hypnagogic state—the borderline between wakefulness and sleep. Clinically, 45 minutes of Yoga Nidra can provide the physiological rest equivalent to 3 hours of deep sleep. It systematically relaxes every layer of the physical, energetic, and mental body, making it a premier treatment for PTSD, insomnia, and severe exhaustion.

Clinical Benefits

  • Provides the neurological rest of several hours of deep sleep
  • Reprograms the subconscious mind to release deeply held phobias and trauma
  • Significantly lowers blood pressure and heart rate
  • Cures severe insomnia by retraining the brain to drop into Delta waves

Clinical Procedure

1. Preparation (Purvakarma)

  • The patient lies in Shavasana (corpse pose) in a dark, quiet, temperature-controlled room.
  • Blankets and bolsters are used to ensure absolute physical comfort so the body can remain completely still.

2. Main Action (Pradhana Karma)

The therapist provides a continuous, soothing voice guidance. The patient is taken through a "rotation of consciousness" (focusing on specific body parts), breath awareness, and guided visualizations. The goal is for the body to fall completely asleep while the mind remains a tiny fraction awake.

3. Post-Therapy (Paschatkarma)

  • A very slow, gentle awakening process.
  • Patient is advised to move slowly and hydrate.

Patient FAQs

What if I actually fall asleep?

Falling asleep is very common and perfectly fine. Your subconscious mind still absorbs the healing benefits and your nervous system still gets profound rest.

How does it help with trauma?

During Yoga Nidra, brain waves slow down to Alpha and Theta states, which allows the subconscious mind to safely process and release trapped emotional trauma without having to "relive" it actively.
