Yoni Prakshalana (Vaginal Douche)
in Bengaluru

Yoni Prakshalana is a therapeutic vaginal irrigation or douche using specific, lukewarm herbal decoctions. It is used to cleanse the vaginal tract, treat severe infections, and maintain local hygiene in gynecological disorders.

Clinical Benefits

  • Clears thick, foul-smelling, fungal or bacterial vaginal discharge (Leukorrhea/Shweta Pradara)
  • Relieves intense vaginal itching and burning instantly
  • Promotes healing of cervical erosions and chronic pelvic inflammation
  • Maintains a healthy vaginal pH using natural astringent herbs

Clinical Procedure

1. Preparation (Purvakarma)

  • A sterile decoction is prepared using astringent, anti-microbial herbs like Triphala, Panchavalkala, or Neem.

2. Main Action (Pradhana Karma)

The patient lies in the lithotomy position. The lukewarm decoction is gently irrigated into the vaginal canal using a sterile douche apparatus or syringe, ensuring all morbid secretions are washed out.

3. Post-Therapy (Paschatkarma)

  • The area is wiped dry. This is often followed by Yoni Pichu (medicated pad).

Patient FAQs

Are vaginal douches safe?

Modern chemical douches can destroy healthy flora. Ayurvedic Yoni Prakshalana uses specific herbal decoctions (like Triphala) that selectively kill pathogens while their astringent nature tones the vaginal walls, making it highly safe and therapeutic.
